2026 HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING GUIDE

How to Plan a Holiday Party Your Employees Will Actually Remember

There Comes a Point Every Holiday Season…

The invitations begin to arrive and calendars fill with year-end meetings, client appreciation events, neighborhood gatherings, and company holiday parties. Before long, December becomes a blur of celebrations.

For many organizations, the annual holiday party is one of the most anticipated events of the year (if it isn’t yet, then this article is for you). It’s an opportunity to thank employees for their hard work, celebrate accomplishments, strengthen relationships, and simply enjoy one another’s company outside the office. Yet despite the best intentions, many holiday parties are quickly forgotten.

Not because the food wasn’t good or the venue wasn’t beautiful. But because they never created an experience people wanted to remember.

The celebrations that stay with us are different.

They’re the ones where coworkers linger over conversation instead of checking their watches. Where guests gather around a chef preparing something extraordinary. Where someone discovers a new favorite cocktail, or laughs with a colleague they rarely see outside of work.

Those moments don’t happen by accident; they’re created through thoughtful hospitality. And that’s exactly what we believe the holidays should be about.

The Best Holiday Parties Don’t Feel Like Company Events

Think back to the best celebration you’ve ever attended. There’s a good chance you don’t remember exactly what was served. What you probably remember is how it felt.

Maybe it was the excitement of arriving to a beautifully designed space. Perhaps it was the first handcrafted cocktail that welcomed you through the door. Or it was watching a chef carve perfectly roasted beef tenderloin while you quietly debated which sauce to choose. Maybe it was simply having the opportunity to slow down and enjoy an evening together.

That’s the difference between serving dinner and creating an experience.

When every detail is intentional, guests naturally relax. Conversations become easier. The evening develops its own rhythm, and people leave feeling appreciated instead of obligated.

That’s what hospitality is really about.

Start the Evening with a Signature Cocktail

Every memorable celebration begins with a welcome. And few things accomplish that more naturally than a thoughtfully crafted signature cocktail.

Rather than asking guests to choose from a standard bar menu, a seasonal cocktail immediately becomes a conversation starter. Someone asks, “What are you drinking?” Another guest orders the same thing. Suddenly, people who may not know one another are already interacting.

This year’s Good Food Holiday Cocktail Collection was inspired by everything we love about the season—warm spices, rich espresso, citrus, toasted marshmallows, and classic winter flavors presented with a modern twist.

Featured favorites include:

  • Winter Orchard – Brandy, apple cider, cranberry juice, cinnamon and nutmeg with an orange slice and cinnamon stick garnish.
  • Ruby Reindeer – Blanco tequila, pomegranate, fresh lime and citrus liqueur for a bright, festive beginning.
  • Tropical Snowfall – A Florida-inspired holiday cocktail featuring vodka, Irish cream, crème de cacao, marshmallow syrup and coconut cream, finished with toasted coconut or a freshly torched marshmallow.
  • Mistletoe Mocha Martini – Espresso, vanilla vodka, Irish cream and chocolate liqueur for guests who believe dessert belongs in a glass.
  • Santa’s Nightcap – Bourbon or rye, maple syrup, cranberry syrup, aromatic bitters and orange, designed for slow conversations after dinner.

Each cocktail is created to complement—not compete with—the meal while giving guests something memorable to discover together.

Give Guests Something to Experience

One of the biggest trends in entertaining isn’t simply elevated food; it’s interaction.

Guests love watching chefs finish a dish in front of them.

They enjoy choosing toppings, customizing a plate, or watching a cocktail garnished moments before it’s served.

These experiences naturally encourage people to gather, ask questions, take photos, and engage with one another.

That’s why chef-attended action stations continue to be one of our favorite ways to entertain.

Imagine guests gathering around a beautifully presented carving station while herb-roasted beef tenderloin is sliced to order. Others may gravitate toward fresh pasta finished before their eyes or a grazing display that encourages people to explore at their own pace.

The food becomes part of the entertainment.

Every Great Celebration Balances Comfort and Surprise

One of the most rewarding parts of designing a holiday menu is finding the balance between familiar traditions and unexpected moments.

Guests appreciate comforting seasonal flavors. Roasted meats, Scratch-made sides, warm desserts, holiday spices.

But they also remember discovering something they weren’t expecting. A creative small plate. An interactive dessert station. A cocktail they can’t stop talking about. Or maybe a server walking around with Mini Bistro Burgers or our signature Turkey Stack – oven roasted turkey, mayo, corn bread dressing, spiced cranberry sauce, on a garlic butter brushed Hawaiian roll.

Those surprises transform a meal into an experience.

Don’t Forget January

Here’s one of our favorite pieces of planning advice – you don’t have to celebrate in December.

In fact, January has quietly become one of the smartest times to host a company celebration.

Holiday schedules have settled, employees aren’t rushing between family gatherings, venues often have greater availability. Your guests arrive more relaxed, more present, and ready to enjoy themselves.

Whether you’re celebrating another successful year, recognizing your team, or kicking off the year ahead, January offers all of the benefits of a holiday gathering without many of the scheduling challenges that come with December.

It’s one of the industry’s best-kept secrets.

Hospitality Is What Guests Remember Most

Long after the last cocktail has been served and the final plate has been cleared, people won’t remember every menu item. They’ll remember how they were treated.

The smile that greeted them at the door. The bartender who remembered their drink. The chef who explained the inspiration behind a dish. The effortless feeling that someone had thought through every detail before they even arrived.

That’s genuine hospitality. It’s the foundation of every celebration we create.

Let’s Create a Celebration They’ll Remember

The holidays are an opportunity to bring people together. To celebrate accomplishments, to thank employees and to reconnect with clients.

To pause—if only for one evening—and enjoy great food, meaningful conversation, and genuine hospitality.

Whether you’re planning a festive cocktail reception, an elegant seated dinner, or an interactive culinary experience complete with chef-attended stations and signature cocktails, our team would love to help bring your vision to life.

Because the best holiday parties aren’t remembered for what was served; they’re remembered for how they made people feel.
