Great Food in One of Tampa's Most Iconic Event Spaces
Historic brick. Warm wood floors. Soaring ceilings. Views of the Hillsborough River and downtown Tampa.
Armature Works has become one of Tampa Bay’s most recognizable places to celebrate—and it’s easy to understand why.
Good Food Events + Catering, has had the opportunity to cater weddings and events at Armature Works since day one and love the flexibility the venue gives us to create everything from elegant plated dinners to interactive chef-attended stations and high-energy cocktail-style receptions. We were one of the original three caterers hand selected to provide amazing culinary experiences to guests at the venue.
The building may provide the backdrop.
Our job is to make sure the food and hospitality are every bit as memorable.

Three Distinct Spaces
Armature Works offers several different settings within the property, allowing couples and event hosts to choose an experience that fits the size and style of the celebration.
The Gathering
The largest of the Armature Works event spaces, The Gathering offers more than 10,000 square feet of reception space and is designed for large celebrations.
Its exposed brick, wood floors, high ceilings and flexible open floor plan make it particularly well suited for weddings and events where dinner, entertainment and design all need room to breathe.
For larger events and weddings, the space gives us tremendous flexibility in deciding how food becomes part of the evening;whether that’s a coordinated plated dinner, multiple chef-attended culinary stations or an extended cocktail-style reception.
The Theatre
For a more intimate celebration, The Theatre combines the historic character of Armature Works with views toward the Hillsborough River and downtown Tampa.
Original wood details and the smaller scale of the room create a warmer, more intimate dining environment.
We particularly like this space for weddings and social events where the goal is to create the feeling of an incredible dinner party rather than a large ballroom reception.
Rooftop 220
Rooftop 220 offers something completely different: an indoor/outdoor event experience overlooking the Hillsborough River and Tampa skyline.
For smaller weddings and celebrations, the rooftop creates an unmistakably Tampa setting and works beautifully for cocktail-driven events, intimate dinners and celebrations centered around the view.
Catering at Armature Works
The Space Should Help Determine the Menu
One of the biggest mistakes in event planning is choosing a menu without thinking about how it will actually function inside the venue.
At Armature Works, we design the catering experience around the specific room, guest count, timeline and style of celebration.
A formal wedding in The Gathering may call for an entirely different service plan than an intimate reception in The Theatre.
And that’s a good thing.
Rather than trying to force every event or wedding into the same catering package, we can consider how your guests will actually move through the space and build the menu around that experience.
Plated Dinners
For formal wedding receptions and galas, plated service can create a polished transition from cocktail hour into dinner.
Successful plated service, particularly for larger guest counts, depends on far more than selecting entrées.
The onsite kitchen layout, staffing plan, service routes and timing all need to work together so each table experiences dinner the way it was intended.
Our team specializes in off-premise execution and prepares and finishes food onsite at Armature Works to preserve the restaurant-style experience Good Food was built around.
Chef-Attended Culinary Stations
Armature Works and culinary stations are a natural pairing.
The open format of The Gathering in particular gives us the opportunity to turn food into part of the room design and part of the entertainment.
Depending on your menu and event, that might include experiences such as:
- a chef-attended churrasco steak or tomahawk carving station;
- freshly prepared pasta;
- a raw bar;
- interactive ceviche;
- composed small plates;
- globally inspired culinary stations;
- late-night food experiences;
- interactive dessert stations.
Our favorite stations aren’t simply buffets with prettier signs.
Something should be happening.
A chef carving.
A sauce being finished.
A dish being composed.
A guest making a choice.
That’s when dinner becomes an experience.
Start With Cocktail Hour
Armature Works offers great opportunities to let the reception build gradually.
Rather than thinking of cocktail hour as something guests need to get through before dinner, we like to use it to establish the personality of the evening.
Passed hors d’oeuvres can move through the crowd while guests explore the space.
A raw bar or grazing presentation can become a destination.
Smaller chef-attended experiences can create interaction before everyone transitions into dinner.
And because Armature Works provides its own beverage program, the food and venue bar team can work alongside one another to create a natural flow from the first cocktail through the reception.
Why We Love Catering at Armature Works
Some event venues dictate exactly what the party is going to feel like.
Armature Works gives you room to make it your own.
The restored industrial architecture provides plenty of personality—exposed brick, wood floors, high ceilings and the history of one of Tampa’s landmark buildings—without forcing couples into one particular design style.
We’ve seen the space feel romantic and understated.
Bold and modern.
Classic.
High-energy.
Completely transformed.
From a catering perspective, we especially love that the spaces allow food to become part of the event rather than simply something that happens behind the scenes.
Cocktail hour can flow naturally into dinner.
Chef-attended stations can become visual focal points.
Passed hors d’oeuvres can move through the room while guests mingle.
And larger receptions can still feel intentional when the floor plan, menu and service style are designed together.
It’s exactly the kind of venue where thoughtful catering makes a difference.
Frequently Asked Questions about Catering at Armature Works
Can Good Food cater a wedding at Armature Works?
Good Food has been a catering partner at Armature Works since the day it opened. We have extensive experience catering weddings, corporate events, galas and fundraising events at Armature Works. If food and service is a high priority for your event, then we would love to talk.
Does Good Food provide bar service at Armature Works?
Armature Works manages beverage service under its own liquor program. While Good Food provides licensed bar and beverage catering at many Tampa Bay venues, bar service for events at Armature Works is handled through the venue.
What type of wedding food works best at Armature Works?
The venue is flexible enough to accommodate many different styles. We’ve found that plated dinners, chef-attended culinary stations, cocktail-style receptions and interactive dining experiences can all work beautifully depending on the specific Armature Works space, guest count and event timeline.
How many guests can Armature Works accommodate?
Capacity depends on the space and event setup. At The Gathering, we feel comfortable with plated dinners for up to 550-600 guests, while we have flawlessly executed cocktail style and open format events for up to 1200 guests. The Theatre is designed for smaller events of up to 100 guests and celebrations and Rooftop 220 for the most intimate events. Rooftop 220 space is split between indoor and outdoor spaces, so we can comfortably work with guest counts between 50-100. Before booking, please confirm final capacities and floor-plan requirements directly with the venue.
Can we have both our ceremony and reception at Armature Works?
Yes. Armature Works offers multiple indoor and outdoor spaces that can support ceremonies, cocktail hours and receptions. The best configuration depends on which Armature Works venue you reserve. We frequently work with corporate clients who utilize the Social Hall or Social Room for pre-event space, outside breezeway for cocktail hour, then the main reception in The Gathering. For large wedding guest counts, this configuration works especially well, while weddings with smaller guest counts opt to utilize Rooftop 220 for cocktail hour followed by a dinner reception in The Theatre.
Does Good Food offer wedding tastings?
Yes. Our wedding tasting process allows couples to sample selected menu items and work with our event and culinary teams to refine the menu and catering experience.
Can Good Food accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs can be incorporated during menu planning. We recommend discussing specific allergies and dietary requirements with your event specialist well before the wedding.
