The main event room at the Tampa River Center is approximately 2,880 square feet, with large windows that allow the waterfront setting to remain part of the reception even after everyone moves indoors.
It’s a flexible room, but flexibility makes thoughtful floor planning especially important.
Guest count, Tables, Dance floor, DJ or band, Bars, Culinary stations, Cake, Décor and Service paths.
All of those elements need to share the same space.
That’s why we don’t think about catering independently from the floor plan. We work hand in hand with your wedding or event planner to ensure that the event flows smoothly.

For those who want an elegant seated reception, plated service can work beautifully at the Tampa River Center.
It creates a clear transition from waterfront cocktail hour into dinner and gives the evening a more formal rhythm.

Our culinary and service teams coordinate food production, plating, staffing and service timing so tables are served efficiently and the food arrives the way it was intended.

Is the Tampa River Center now called the Bob Buckhorn River Center?
Yes. In June 2025, the City of Tampa officially renamed the Tampa River Center at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park the Bob Buckhorn River Center in honor of former Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. Many couples, planners and vendors still refer to it simply as the Tampa River Center, so you’ll commonly hear both names.
Can Good Food cater a wedding at the Tampa River Center?
Good Food has extensive experience catering events at the Tampa River Center and have been on the approved catering list since the day the center opened. Because dates may fill up on our calendar, please confirm current availability with our team when requesting your proposal.
How many guests can the Tampa River Center accommodate?
The City currently indicates that the indoor event room can accommodate approximately 150 seated guests when the layout includes a DJ or band and dance floor, or up to approximately 200 seated guests without those elements. Larger cocktail-style events may be possible depending on layout and event flow. Final capacity should always be confirmed directly with the venue.
Can we have our wedding ceremony outside?
Yes. The Tampa River Center currently offers outdoor ceremony options on the dock, deck and lawn. Dock ceremonies have seasonal and scheduling restrictions, so couples interested in that option should confirm availability with the venue.
Can we have the ceremony and reception at the same venue?
Yes. One of the advantages of the Tampa River Center is the ability to create ceremony, cocktail hour and reception experiences within the same riverfront setting.
Does the Tampa River Center include tables and chairs?
The venue currently provides an inventory of tables and silver Chiavari chairs with white cushions. Couples should confirm quantities and current inventory directly with the venue as part of their planning.
What wedding catering style works best at the Tampa River Center?
That depends on guest count and the type of reception you’re planning. Plated dinners can create an elegant seated experience, while chef-attended culinary stations can create a more interactive reception. But don’t sleep on a really awesome buffet; we can create something amazing. The room layout, dance floor, entertainment and guest count should all be considered when choosing the service style.
Can Good Food accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests?
Yes. Dietary needs can be incorporated during menu planning. We recommend discussing allergies and dietary requirements with your event specialist well before the wedding so our culinary team can plan appropriately.
Does Good Food provide bar service at the Tampa River Center?
Alcohol service at the Bob Buckhorn River Center is subject to City of Tampa venue rules and must be handled through appropriately approved and licensed catering providers, like Good Food. Outside beverage catering is prohibited.
